MEDS MANAGEMENT:

1) You are filling out a fluid balance chart for a client. They have had 2 Cups of tea that are 150mls each and 3 Glasses of water that are 175mls each. What is the total?

SCENARIO FORM – NI SUPPORT WORKER SCENARIO (BOTH ON ONE)

1) You have taken a service user with autism on a day trip to the local swimming pool. In reception there is a school trip with a large group who are making a lot of noise. The service user you are caring for begins to pace, fidget with their hands and become more increasingly agitated.
What are your actions?

2) You are on shift at the local residential home for intellectual disabilities. Whilst in the day room, two of the service users demonstrate escalating risk behaviours. This becomes an altercation in which one service user attempts to push the other, shouting, and threatening to beat them. There are other several service users in the day room doing activities such as puzzles and reading. There is no other staff member in the room at present as the nurses are completing their medication rounds.
What actions would you take in this situation to ensure the safety of yourself, service users and others?
