You have just been to see one of your patients on the ward, a 9 year old boy who is having difficulty speaking and his chest is 'quiet' on auscultation. He was recently diagnosed with asthma (6 months ago). He has a baby sister who is well, but both his parents suffer from hay fever and his father had bad eczema as a child which required hospital treatment. Neither parents smoke, but his grandparents continue smoking, even when the child stays with them. His vital signs are: BP: 125/80 HR: 120 SpO2: 86% on RA Temp: 37.5 RR: 35 Please comment on this childs condition using an ABCDE approach. Suggest a possible diagnosis and explain your priorities for his management.
