Scenario 13 | HCA Residential/Domiciliary Care

Patient: 92 year old female

History: Dementia, Hypertension

Background: Patient has been resident at nursing home for past 3 years in dementia ward. She has a husband and daughter listed as Next of Kin.

Scenario: You have just started your morning shift and arrive at the bedside of Mrs Jones to organise her shower.

You find her on the floor bedside the bed. She is awake and responding to you but her speech seems to be slurred and she seems to be slightly more confused than normal.

What are your actions? Please describe all the steps you would follow for the complete care of this patient.
